A sensory coffee tasting workshop
In this small-group workshop, we’ll explore how coffee professionals taste and evaluate flavour. Through guided sensory exercises and a structured coffee cupping, you’ll learn how to recognise different aromas, understand the building blocks of taste, and develop the confidence to describe what you’re experiencing in the cup.
Rather than simply tasting a few coffees, this session is designed to help you understand how flavour works, so you can approach coffee with a deeper awareness and curiosity.
What to expect
Over the course of two engaging hours we’ll:
• Explore coffee aromas using professional sensory tools
• Learn how our senses of smell and taste shape flavour perception
• Taste coffees with different origins and processing methods
• Take part in a guided cupping — the method professionals use to evaluate coffee
• Practice describing flavour in a relaxed and supportive setting
The session is kept intentionally small to encourage discussion, questions and shared discoveries.
What you’ll leave with
• A better understanding of how flavour works in coffee
• Greater confidence in identifying and describing aromas and taste
• A deeper appreciation for the diversity of coffee
• A freshly roasted bag of Contour coffee to enjoy at home (RRP = £11.99)
