A hands-on coffee brewing workshop at Contour Coffee
Great coffee at home doesn’t come down to expensive equipment or complicated recipes. It comes down to understanding a few simple principles that shape flavour in the cup. In this small-group workshop inside the Contour Coffee roastery, you’ll learn how professional roasters think about extraction, brewing and flavour — and how to apply those ideas to your own coffee at home.
Together we’ll explore how variables like grind size, brew ratio and brew time influence taste, and experience how small adjustments can transform a coffee from sour or bitter into something balanced and sweet. Rather than simply following a recipe, this session will help you understand what’s happening in the cup so you can confidently adjust your brewing and consistently make better coffee
What to expect
Over the course of two engaging and interactive hours we’ll:
• Taste coffees brewed at different extraction levels to understand how flavour changes
• Learn the key principles behind balanced coffee brewing
• Brew coffee together using simple manual brewing methods
• Explore how to dial in a coffee by adjusting grind, ratio and time
• Talk through practical tips you can apply immediately at home
The session is intentionally kept small so there’s plenty of time for discussion, questions and hands-on brewing.
What you’ll leave with
• A clearer understanding of how coffee extraction works
• Practical brewing skills you can apply with any manual brew method
• A printed Contour brewing guide to take home
• A freshly roasted bag of Contour coffee to brew with (RRP = £11.99)
